Weekend Recap!

We had a busy busy weekend! I was exhausted by the time Sunday evening rolled around. So instead of writing paragraph after paragraph of everything this weekend entailed I opted for bullet point. And really who doesn't enjoy a good bullet pointed list on a Monday afternoon! Ha!

Friday
  • Early happy hour after work with some coworkers that I won't see again before my last day due to traveling at a local bar, Stoneleigh P.
  • Dinner with Friends that were in town from Nashville for a funeral. Horrible reason for them to be in Dallas, but glad I got to see them and thier lil one, Riley. I only got one pic... :( But at least it was of our two babies.

Saturday
  • Hair appointment! Chopped almost 6 inches off!!! If you remember my post here, you understand the serious amount of stress cutting my hair causes. I went with a recommendation from Lindsey and I love it! I will definitely be going back!
  • Out to the west side of the metroplex to watch my cousins kids play baseball and softball follwed by me having to leave early because I got my first BAD sunburn of the season. I even had sun screen on... I can't stand pale skin! Ugghhhh... The rest of my olive skinned perfectly tanned family looked all kinds of golden and glowy while I left in pain looking like a lobster. Why did I have to miss out on that gene???
  • After a nap and a painful shower, me and the SIL headed out to San Martino Winery for Sister's Night! We had a blast and I drank the sun burn pain away!
  • Yes, we brought Pizza Hut with us to a winery. We're classy! Some old drunk guy with a fancy picnic basket wanted our leftovers though, so it made us feel a lttle better.
The new do! What do you think????

    Notice how pink I am?
Me and my SIL! Jeremy and her could never deny they are related!
    Beautiful sunset over the vineyard!
  • The winery closed at 9:00 so we headed over to meet Jeremy at our friends house before heading home to crash.
Sunday
  • Slept in until 11:00! Can't remember the last time I did that! Too much wine and sun I guess!
  • Ran errands. Made my first goodwill trip trying to be all sorts of crafty like all these blog ladies I read about with perfect looking homes. I left with nothing except for the strange smell of old shoes lingering in my hair...
  • Grocery shopping and light cleaning while Beckett watched Daddy mow.
  • Wish I could spend the day relaxing watching my hot sweaty man mow! Ha! Too much?
  • Sunday night family dinner with Jer's family. This is a new tradition we've started and I love it. Last night was our night to host. I made Spinach Lasagna Wraps and they were delish! You can find the recipe here.
  • Cleaned up, cuddled with my boys, then bed!
Great weekend! Hope yours was too!

One more question! If you haven't noticed all my pictures are pretty much from my iphone, my current camera is older and it's a huge pain getting pictures off it and loaded onto the computer. So I've asked for a new camera for my birthday! I was thinking about the Canon Rebel T3. Anyone have any suggestions or thoughts on this bad boy?

A little about me - DBM

Good Morning!

I've been such a slacker with blogging lately. Trying to catch up one day at a time!

I'm linking up for the Dallas Blogger Meetup to let everyone know a lil about moi! I'm going to be attending a couple events for the DBM and I can't wait! It's going to be soooo much fun to meet the people I already know so much about.

So without further ado...

- I'm married to the most amazing handsome loving man, Jeremy! I have to brag a bit, he is a total smarty pants! He was first in his class in the honors college at Texas Tech! He graduated high school, undergrad, and grad school with a 4.0! Handsome & smart, not sure how I got so lucky!

- I'm probably one of the most stubborn people you will ever meet.

- I'm totally OCD about cleaning my house. If it's out of order or dirty I can't focus until it's clean. Something I'm sure I'll have to work on once children come along.

- Lately anytime I tell someone I have something to tell them they automatically think I'm preggers! Not sure if it's cause they're excited or they think I'm fat! Ha! It's happened 3, yes 3 times just this week!

- I love ranch dressing! It's pretty much the only reason I eat raw carrots.

- I'm obsessed with my Boxer, Beckett. We adopted him from Legacy Boxer Rescue. He was abused by his previous owners and was so shy and scared when we got him! He was literally afraid of the wind. Now he's happy and playful and a normal silly boxer! I love that his personality has come back and he knows he's safe! We are still working on socializing him with other dogs, but he has come such a loooonnnnnggg way!

- This year I've decided that I refuse to be a fat married person. I lost a lot of weight for my wedding and I gained it all back plus several extra pounds! So much so I couldn't button my fat pants! EEEEKKK! So since January I've completed my first 5K, The 30 Day Shred, and now I'm on to Insanity! I still hate every minute of exercising but I love that I can fit into jeans that I haven't wore in almost 3 years!!!

- I have my Masters in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio and my Bachelors in Healthcare Management from Harding University in Arkansas.

- I love the color pink!

- Spending the day outside in the warm sun with a cold beer and my family and friends are my favorite days!

- I love bass fishing,

- Everyone thinks I'm really girly, but I don't think I am. I have no sense of style what so ever. If we are ever rich I'm totally hiring a stylist!

-  My husband and I carpool to work almost everyday.

- I love cooking, but I loathe going to the grocery store.

- If I could eat tortillas & queso everyday for the rest of my life I would be perfectly happy.

- My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving.

- I use to tap dance and I would randomly without even thinking about it start tap dancing down the hall at work. I worked in an ICU so the floors sounded great under my tennis shoes. So everyone called me twinkle, short for twinkle toes.

- I've posted a few blog posts that were about trust and stress and again everyone thought I was pregnant, but I'm not. Everyone in my real life now knows the news so it's only fitting that I should tell my bloggy friends now too. I got offered a new job!!!! It's a great promotion and I can't wait to start, but the whole process was stressin me out big time! But, thank you thank you thank you for all those who showed concern and prayed for me! It means so much!!!

Happy Friday ladies!!

A little catch up....

Hello... Long time no talk right...

It's been one of those weeks...

Lots of work stress goin on... which is keeping me pretty occupied. I'm also still doing Insanity. It's literally torture. Once I'm finished with that in the evening I barely have enough energy to eat anything for dinner, which is probably why I've lost two pounds this week. I'm hoping my body will get use to it and I'll be back to my normal energy level soon, cause right now I feel like I'm a walking zombie.

This weekend our patio was completed! I can't wait to finish decorating and adding furniture and share some pictures with you guys! We had some friends (Tiffany & Lauren as well as their hubs) over Friday night for burgers and they helped us break it in!

LBR Roses for Rescue was also this past weekend and was a HUGE success! They sold all their flowers and made lots of money for sweet boxers in need!

Some LBR adopted boxers lookin cute and bringin in customers!

My pretty Momma looking for the perfect rose bush!

Beckett and his foster Momma, Amy. She literally is "The Beckett Whisperer"! I love her and Beckett absolutely adores her, lots of slobbery kisses were had!

Beckett & Buckley (my parents boxer) modeling in front of their newly planted roses.

Seriously, he needs to be a dog food model or something. I'm totally biased, but I think he is the most adorable thing in the whole world!

I think he likes me too! He wasn't so much interested in pictures as he was kissing my face.

Picture my Daddy took of one of the buds on my new rose bush. So pretty!
Sunday was lovely. Spent the day at the park with Tiffany and her sweet family working on socializing Beckett. Followed by a family dinner at my SIL's house.

Perfect weekend! Oh! Forgot to mention... I took a break from working out this weekend too! I took 3 days off to celebrate completing The Shred. It was sooooo nice to relax!

Now if I could just get through the rest of the week...
